IOSH Ireland Western District Seminar – Farmyard Safety and Windfarm Construction 11th March 2014, Galway


IOSH Ireland Western District committee are hosting a FREE seminar in the Maldron Hotel, Oranmore, Galway on Tuesday the 11th of March from 7pm-9pm. The seminar will focus on the following topics:

Farmyard health and safety
John Kennedy, Inspector, Agriculture and Forestry Policy unit, HSA
John will outline the accident record for the agricultural sector, use examples to show where many farm deaths were preventable, explain how a simple risk assessment tool may reduce risks on Irish farms, and present a summary of the findings of recent research on the underlying psycho-social factors influencing risk related behaviours of Irish farmers.

Windfarm construction
Mick O’Grady, ESB Asset Development
Mick will discuss the lifecycle of a windfarm right from concept to development. The presentation will examine the particular OHS challenges that must be addressed during the construction of a windfarm in Ireland.
